STANDING UP, MAR’S MOST HATED ACT

Mar is very, very likable, but in the end this is very alarming for someone like him running for higher office.

There are news spreading that Mar Roxas, aspiring Vice Presidential Candidate for 2010, and his gang of PRs are the ones behind the massive attack – in a form of ethics complaint – against  Senator Manny Villar, a Presidential candidate. C5 double insertion, anyone?

Though the complaint was instigated by Senators Ping Lacson and Jamby Madrigal, Senator Mar Roxas was presumed the head of it, for he provided the financial means to pursue the protest.

So what? If it is true, it is not bad after all.

What’s just annoying is the way he behaved when the C5-probe was initialized. While Lacson and Madrigal are up and shooting Villar down with exposés, Roxas laid still and flat back in a corner listening, pretending that he knows nothing about the issue when in ‘fact’, he and his team from the Liberal Party did all the research and provided all the details for the alleged controversy.

With such news arising, true or not, do you really think Mar is worthy of a vote from us Filipinos?

We can safely assume that the issue is half-true. Roxas knows something about the issue, just like any other high profile politicians, yet he did not give a hand on searching for the truth. Or rather, he would not want to give a hand to his career rivals?

Only a few have seen him openly stand up, if not take initiative, in public before… well, he did, but those were moments of mistakes in his part. Boy Bawang, P********-hoodlum branding, ring any bells?

Will we vote someone who can’t stand up on his own shoes?

We wouldn’t, of course. He’s even insured himself that he’ll be saved by her lovey-dovey, ABS-CBN top newsreader, Korina Sanchez, come political crunch time!
